Damas y caballeros, con todos ustedes, «Grotten«!
Este prop es un diseño propio inspirado en el videojuego «Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare». No aparece en él, pero jugarlo me llevó a crear esto, no se por qué. ^^U
Aquí os dejo el vídeo del proceso con la música de Voodoomed, y más abajo un tutorial escrito para saber tooodos los detalles.

DIY Prop Gun: Grotten Craft Tutorial
Ladies and gentlemen, I’m pleased to present, «Grotten«!
This is an original design inspired by the videogame «Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare». Not appear on it, but playing it took me to create this, do not know why. ^^U

Tutorial
Empezamos utilizando una pistola de juguete, esta no me costó más de 2 euros.
We started using a toy gun, that cost me less than 2 euros.
Por aquel entonces no tenía herramientas para cortar correctamente, así que se me ocurrió derretir el plástico con un soldador de estaño. Yo ya tenía uno en casa, pero para esto puedes comprar uno en algún Bazar Chino, te costará 2€ máximo, y si se rompe no pasa nada. Realiza este trabajo al aire libre y con una mascarilla para no respirar el humo del plástico quemado.
If you haven’t the right tools to cut the plastic, you can use a soldering iron. I already had one at home, but for this you can buy one at some Chinese Baazar, it will cost 2 euros maximum, and nothing happens if it breaks. Make this work outdoors and with a face mask to prevent breathing smoke of burning plastic.
Para darle peso a la pistola, la vamos a abrir y rellenar con pasta para modelar barata, como la que utilizan los peques.
To give weight to the gun, we will open and fill with cheap modeling clay, which is used by the kids.
Aunque la vamos a atornillar, utiliza un pegamento para que se fijen bien las dos partes.
We’re going to screw the gun, but you can use too a glue to set right the two sides.
Para modelar el exterior, utilicé masilla Epoxi de dos componentes.
To mold the outside, I used a two part epoxy putty.
Una vez esté seca, lija la masilla!
Once it is dry, sand the putty!
Coloca unos alambres para realizar la sujeción de los gusanos. Aplica masilla en una punta del alambre y pegala sobre la base.
Put a wire for securing the worms. Apply putty at the end of the wire and paste it on the base.
Para hacer los gusanos, haz pequeñas tiras muuuy finas y enroscalas sobre el alambre. Para suavizar las texturas utiliza alcohol.
To make the worms, make small strips and screw it over the wire. Use alcohol to soften the texture.
Para hacer la base de la pistola, realiza un boceto con plastilina, así puedes hacer pruebas sin gastar masilla.
To make the base of the gun, do a skecth with plasticine, so you can make tests without spending putty.
Cortamos un rectangulo de madera contrachapada fina y colocamos unos tornillos para que la base de masilla quede bien sujeta. Calculamos la posición con la base de plastilina.
Cut a rectangle of thin plywood and put a few screws to secure the putty base. Calculate the position of the screws with the plasticine base.
Con estas tiras de madera realizaremos otro rectángulo.
Do antother rectangle with these wood strips.
Para fijarlo bien utiliza un pegamento (sellador) de madera, y a parte unos clavitos no vienen mal.
To secure it, use a glue for wood, and use some nails.
Colocaremos pegamento en la parte superior y a continuación pegaremos la base.
We will put glue on the top and then the stick the base.
Más tarde se me ocurrió darle algo más de «diseño» a la base, así que realicé un corte diagonal.
I wanted to do more «design» with the base, so I made a diagonal cut.
Coloca la plastilina sobre los tornillos para comprobar que está todo correcto.
Put the plasticine on the screws to make sure everything is correct.
Quita la plastilina y comineza a hacer la base final con masilla Epoxi de dos componentes.
Remove the plasticine and start making the final base with the two components epoxy putty.
Y esta es la base, le añadí piedrecitas pequeñas para darle algo de textura.
And this is the base! I added small stones to give it some texture.
Ahora tan solo queda imprimar.
Prime it all!
Para imprimar la base, ata un cordón o hilo grueso sobre la parte más oculta, ya que el spray no podrá cubrir esa pequeña zona. Pero cerciórate de que sea una zona segura, no queremos un accidente!
To prime the base, tie a cord on the most hidden and secure part, because the spray will not fill this small area. But make sure it is a safe area, we don’t want an accident!
Producto listo para pintar con pintura acrílica y finalmente barnizar!
Product ready to paint with acrylics and finally varnish!
Si el barniz se te queda pegajoso puedes utilizar cera para madera. Como último dato, barnicé los gusanos con barniz brillo, y el resto con barniz mate. (Gracias Mamá por este tuquito!)
I varnished the worms with gloss varnish, and the rest with matte varnish. If the varnish still sticky long time since it dry, you can use wood wax. (Thanks Mom for this tip!)
